Everton to Submit Improved Bid for Southampton Winger Tyler Dibling
Everton are reportedly gearing up to make a stronger offer to sign Southampton’s promising young winger Tyler Dibling, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. The 19-year-old attacker impressed during the last Premier League season and has attracted interest from several clubs this summer.
While Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur were initially linked with Dibling, neither club has made a formal move, opting to pursue other targets instead. RB Leipzig also showed interest but failed to agree on terms with Southampton, who have valued the youngster at £56 million.
Everton, however, have entered the race and recently saw their opening bid of around £27 million rejected by Southampton. Undeterred, the Toffees are preparing to return with an improved proposal to secure Dibling’s signature, aiming to strengthen their wide forward options.
Why Everton Need Tyler Dibling
Everton’s winger options are limited heading into the new season, with Iliman Ndiaye and Dwight McNeil currently the only established wide players in the squad. Last season, Jesper Lindstrom and Jack Harrison featured on loan but have since returned to their parent clubs. The club initially pursued other targets like Malick Fofana, who favors a move to a Champions League club, and also inquired about Assane Diao and Takefusa Kubo before intensifying efforts for Dibling.
Dibling’s technical ability and potential make him a valuable addition for Everton as they look to bolster their attacking options and improve their squad depth on the flanks.
Current Everton Form and Season Outlook
Despite finishing last season strongly, Everton’s pre-season form has been underwhelming, with defeats in their Premier League Summer Series matches against AFC Bournemouth and West Ham United. Securing a player of Dibling’s calibre could be a vital boost ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.
Romano’s Update on the Transfer
Fabrizio Romano shared on X:
“Everton are preparing new proposal for Tyler Dibling after opening £27m bid rejected. Plan is to return to the table and try to get deal done with Southampton.”
As the transfer window heats up, all eyes will be on whether Everton can close the deal for the exciting Southampton winger and strengthen their squad for the challenges ahead.
