OKOTOKS, AB – July 22, 2025 – The community of Okotoks, Alberta, is mourning the tragic and senseless loss of Madison Cobb, a 23-year-old woman who was fatally shot in a Calgary parkade over the weekend. Madison, a bright and beloved resident of Okotoks, was the victim of a deadly shooting that occurred around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday in the 8700 block of Horton Road S.W. in the Haysboro neighborhood of Calgary.

What Happened

Calgary police responded to reports of gunfire in a multi-level parking garage, where they found Madison Cobb suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency services attempted to assist her, but tragically, she succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

According to investigators, a white Toyota RAV4 with British Columbia license plates, parked on the fourth floor of the parkade, is believed to be connected to the crime.

Arrest Made in Ongoing Investigation

By Monday evening, Calgary police had taken a man into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. While details continue to unfold, Staff Sgt. Sean Gregson of the homicide unit stated that police could not yet confirm whether the shooting was domestic in nature.

However, court documents reveal that Madison Cobb had a restraining order issued on June 10 against a man, barring him from coming within 100 metres of her home or workplace.

Madison worked at Lasik MD, a medical eye care clinic located just above the parkade where the shooting took place. In a heartfelt statement, the company expressed their sorrow:
